Confused On What To Eat When Beginning Your Health & Fitness Journey?

This is part of the FREE “meal plan & workout calendar” I have posted for you guys. Visit the tab here and download it for FREE! I will explain this in detail in my book “30 Days To Fabulous” but here is an awesome cliff note on things to start with.

EATING CLEAN

What the heck does eating clean even mean? Sounds confusing but it really isn’t. Eating clean simply means NO MORE BAD FOODS! I would recommend you cutting out the following. I will update this list every week as I think of new things to add. Cut out,  sugars, all white flour foods, no fried foods, no condiments (ketchup-mayo-dressings), salt (switch to sea salt), dairy (try soy  or tofu products), no junk foods (chips-burgers-fast food), no more sodas or sugary juices, switch your white rice to brown rice, microwave buttered popcorns (pop them yourself do not add butter-lightly salt), no more candy. no more ice creams (witch to light sherbets), switch your pastas to wheat pastas, FAST FOOD IS A KILLER NO MORE OF THAT!

  1. What you can eat is simple. Stick to the basics, eggs, chicken, fish lean red meats, turkey, canned tuna in water.
  2. For Vegans plant based proteins are best!! Suggestions that work,  beans-garbanzo beans-black beans-kidney beans-soy beans, tofu, tempeh
  3. Use simple seasonings such as sea salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and Mrs Dash’s seasonings. You’ll notice that all my recipes use these as their foundation. Everything added such as veggies, brown rice, and my homemade salsa’s are what will bring your foods to life.

Remember that throughout your journey these “basic foods” won’t change. You just add to them as you go. Example, if you bake chicken, you would season it with sea salt, ground pepper, Mrs Dash, and you can add salsas or other homemade sauces. You can have steamed veggies, or add a yam to it. Your foundation should always be BASIC! Stick to the basics and build around it. It’s not as hard as you think. You just have to try.

Hey Somaya (I am borderline stalking you, always have a question or comment, hope you don't mind!) My question is pertaining to working out. During the week, because of work, I work out in the evenings. By the time i'm off work and heading to the gym I am starving! I try to have dinner by 830p the latest. so I was wondering if you can tell me about some good pre workout snacks or mini meal that I can add to my 6 meals a day and if it is best before the workout or after?

Kale Chips with Pico De Gallo is a great, healthy snack.
