I’m going to get straight to the point here. Microwave popcorn! This stuff is sooooooo bad for you. Not only is is high in calories, butters and grease, but heating up your popcorn this way is not natural. Did you also know they add lab made chemicals to them? You know how when you first open the bag it smells like heaven? That’s actually a chemical called “diacetyl”, it’s a synthetic butter flavoring added to the popcorn bags. The gases of the “diacetyl” harms your lungs over time. another crazy thing I discovered as the film in the lining of the bags is known to cause thyroid issues, bladder cancer, and high levels of cholesterol. The crazy part is the majority – about 98% even the ones marked light or organic have these chemicals added to them. That is so creepy and scary!!! And this is something you not only have yourself but it’s common that you give it to your kids. They are being poisoned at a young age.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE popcorn. I never really liked the microwave kind but I have had it in the past. I am so glad I discovered air popping years ago. It’s funny because I didn’t know about all the dangers in the microwave popcorns until I began my health journey. Now it freaks me out!

On a low heat pan, cover your pot with cooking spray, put the kernels in the pot, cover it, and move it around frequently until it pops. You can add a little sea salt for taste.
This is a great method to use if you don’t have an air popper. It’s a million times more healthy and 1 cup of air popped popcorn is only 31 calories & ZERO FAT! Now compare this to 1 bag (because you can’t buy them in cups) of buttery microwaved popcorn at 350 calories and 25-45% os saturated oil & butter FATS! even the “light” versions are still at 15% fat. This is a no no.
