TGIF!!!! Enjoy a “refreshment” AKA coctails this weekend. Cut out all calories and added sugars with my natural mojitos.
Excluding the alcohol, all refreshments posted are made with raw, organic or natural ingredients, without processed sugars. You can enjoy a few of these without feeling guilty. Mind you, all refreshments are NOT fat free, but you can make them to where they aren’t full of processed sugars, creams and any other things that are packed with bad for you calories and are low in the glycemic index. You can enjoy 1-3 of these easily. Keep in mind that refreshments are not all fat free I stress this because people abuse of the fact that these are “skinny” versions of your favorite drinks. So they g overboard and drink wayyyyy too much. Please be responsible while drinking. Don’t drink these every day. Enjoy them on occasion, once a week but please do not be fooled. Just because they are made with natural and low calorie ingredients doesn’t mean you can drink them like a fish. Everything in excess will cause weight gain. Particularly alcoholic refreshments.
Relax, kick back and enjoy a few of my deliciously guilt free refreshments!
Mojtos A La Reece
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Fresh mint, 1 full bunch
- Club soda
- Raw organic gave or Stevia
- Oranges 1 medium one per drink
- 1 large sweet red grapefruit (use 1/2 of one for each glass)
- Fresh naturaly extracted pomegranate juice
- Rum, your favorite kind, Stay away from sweetened rums like Malibu or coconut flavored rum etc
- 1 small mango
HOW TO PREPARE
Wash all your fruits & mint leaves and pick off a few of them. After you have thoroughly washed it, put the mint leaves in a pot, add 2 cups of water, and a little agave or Stevia to sweeten the water. Boil it all together over medium heat. You want it to come to a boil and let it keep boiling for about 10-15 minutes. Don’t evaporate your water, you simply want it to boil for a little bit. DO NOT over use the sugars. If you want this to be a truly be a skinny drink you must not add a ridiculous amount of sugar. After boiling let it sit for a few minutes so it’s not so hot, then drain the water into a container. I use one that’s like a clear glass mason jar (see photo below) then put it in the fridge and let it get cold. Squeeze all your fruits in the glass, add a shot glass worth of pomegranate juice, add 1/2 of your mango int her glass but smash up a few slices with your hands to get the juices out of them, pour a little rum, a shot glass of the mint water, a splash of soda water, twist a small piece of lime in it (add for garnishment), add your ice cubes and THAT’S IT! Serve cold and enjoy 🙂
