4 Ways to Get Over Your Fear of Fitness

Sounds weird, right? How can you be afraid of getting fit? Well, I have come across many women and clients who have confessed to me that they have a fear of getting fit. They don’t actually say it in those terms, but what they do say really tells me that they are scared.

Whether it’s the fact that they are afraid they will injure their knees, sweat our their hair, not reach their goals, or whatever the excuse it, they are all derived from fear.

So how can you get over those fears?

1. Just do it.

You will never know what you are capable of if you never try.

 2. Stop listening to yourself.

Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy. Stop listening to that voice in the back of your head telling you all of the reasons why you can’t do something. (Refer back to #1.)

3. Change can’ts to cans.

No more giving yourself reasons why you can’t do something. If you feel you will mess up your hair, figure out different hairstyles that will go with your new fit life. If you have knee problems, adjust your workouts to prevent injuries. If you can’t afford the gym, find ways to workout at home. There is always a way you CAN.

 4. Get moving.

Sometimes all it takes is that first step. Take a short walk around the block, join a exercise class, or take a bike ride. You will be so surprise by how great you will feel and how strong you really are.

Stop making excuses and let go of your fears. They aren’t doing anything but holding you back from a new healthy you. Let’s go!!
